The Youth Research Partners recently released China Mobile Trends 2010 Report, which has some interesting highlights including a comparison of short message services between the U.S. and China.

The full report can be viewed here.

Some highlights include:

* Where SMS (short message service) has continued rapid growth in the US, in China it has fallen for the first time on record. The fall is due to Chinese youth switching from SMS to other messenger services such as Weibo (the Chinese twitter).
* China has a population of 500 million under the age of 30 who represent a market worth $30 billion USD.
* Rural owners currently comprise 56 million of the 254 million young mobile owners. We estimate this number will reach 100 million by 2012
